We are super excited here at Rencraft, Sevenoaks as one of our designs just has been shortlisted for a prestigious KBB Review Retail & Design Award.
The glittering black-tie event in March is one of the highlights of the kitchen and bathroom calendar. Now in their 26th year, the awards are widely regarded as the biggest and longest running within the industry.
With the winners announced on the final night of the 2020 KBB Exhibition in Birmingham, the event is known for recognising top talent within the sector – and this is the second time a member of the Rencraft design team has been listed as a finalist.
In 2018 our Managing Director, John Stephens, was shortlisted for one of his designs. While this year it is the turn of Director, Robert Waite, whose colourful bespoke design (pictured) has been shortlisted as one of the final four nominees in the Kitchen Designer of the Year category. To support the entry, Robert recently travelled to London where he was invited to present his design to a panel of judges.
Robert says “To be nominated as KBB Review’s Kitchen Designer of the Year is such a great honour. I really am chuffed to bits. Especially as this was such an exciting project to work on. My client was a joy. They knew what they wanted to achieve and they had the confidence to make some really bold and exciting choices with the styling. In terms of the design itself, there are loads of little details peppered throughout that make it really special – from bespoke cabinets custom made to sit within the slanted ceiling, to the raised seating area on the second island . It was great to be able to go to London to present to the judges, and it also highlights just how important an award this is. Of course it would be amazing if I won, but even to be recognised as a finalist is just brilliant!”
Good luck, Robert!
