Clerkenwell Design Week celebrated its 10th birthday this year with an exceptional array of talent on show.
Already a hub for architects and agencies, the streets come alive for a few days every year with design projects, installations and street spectacles to delight and inspire the people who visit.
We headed down on the Thursday to have a look round. Drawing on the rich and sometimes dark history of Clerkenwell itself, the Once Upon A Time street art exhibition referenced numerous historical events in a modern way with geometric shapes and bright colours such as House of Detention by Natasha Lopez.
The BottleHouse also caught our eye, a pyramid created entirely from bottles to highlight the environmental impact of plastic on our world.
Exploring even further we headed to The Platform, a series of underground arches where various artists and pop up displays could be found.
Then, finally, it was time to pop in to say ‘hello’ to our friends at Cosentino. This was a great opportunity to see their new Dekton slim tiles and also to choose a new worktop for our showroom … more details coming soon!
