The starting point for this kitchen was a large, light-filled extension on a beautiful listed property.
The rich, warm walnut of the island and bespoke dresser contrasts with the Glacier White Corian worktops and the hand-painted base and wall units. The central cabinets and worktops curve around, giving a softness to the large (6.5 metre diagonal) island, which may otherwise have dominated the room.
The sheer size of the island has allowed for it to be split into three different levels. The main level around the Miele induction hob and small prep sink, a slightly raised walnut chopping board and a further raised breakfast bar.
Stainless steel plinths and mirrored splashback add to the sense of space. The sink run also has Corian worktops with moulded bowls, complementing the fluid feel of the rest of the design.
