Here at Rencraft, we absolutely love our location in the heart of the Kent countryside.

Our kitchen showroom and workshop on Chart Farm near Sevenoaks is surrounded by some glorious scenery and, as even kitchen designers need a break some times, we have decided to support some of our fellow local business owners by celebrating our local finds and sharing them with you.

Some of our followers will already be aware of how much we love to while away an afternoon with an Estate Walk or Tour at the Hush Heath Vineyard over near Staplehurst, and we now have a new favourite location to add to our list as well! Last weekend we were lucky enough to visit the lovely lavender fields of Castle Farm, just outside Shoreham.

This little known local highlight is actually the largest lavender farm in the whole of the UK. The rolling purple hills as you approach the farm are a truly spectacular sight, and you could easily be forgiven for thinking you were in Provence rather than the Garden of England.

We had pre-booked a 45 minute walk in one of the fields and it really was a feast for the senses as both the sights and the smells were absolutely wonderful. There were also some great photo opportunities including the famous Lavender bench which has made it’s way on to many an Instagram feed over the last few weeks.

While the lavender is now coming to the end of it’s season (the team started harvesting this week and the last date for pre-bookable walks is the 7th of August) the Drive-Thru Farm Shop is still open Wednesday to Sunday, and a whole host of local lavender products, such as honey, shortbread, sleep remedies, soaps and oils, are also available to buy online.

If you weren’t fortunate enough to visit this year, then we recommend you make a note in your diaries for the 2021 season and follow @castlefarmkent on Instagram for updates.
