Timeless Greys
A simple, narrow frame door style and clean lines help give this kitchen a contemporary take on the country kitchen theme – while traditional features such as the Aga, the solid wood worktop on the breakfast cupboard and the use of cup handles also add a touch of charm and character.
On the far side (not pictured) there is a double door larder cupboard, a large American fridge and an additional oven for the summer months when the Aga is switched off. The sink run contains a pull out bin system hidden within the cabinets and the island includes an integrated wine fridge.
The breakfast cupboard serves as the final break before the living space. When the top doors are open it reveals a serviceable wooden worktop with built in sockets, so toasters and coffee machines can be kept neatly tucked away.
Finishing touches include a combination of knob and cup handles along with white quartz worktops.
THE BRIEF
The client wanted to incorporate kitchen, dining and living zones within one large area. Rencraft were asked to design the kitchen, whilst also being mindful of the interior styling being used in the other areas of the room.
FINISH
This beautiful hand-painted kitchen uses a pale shade of grey on the outer run of cabinets, with a darker inky blue shade on the island to create a dramatic contrast.
BEST FEATURE
The traditional chimney style mantel hides a modern extractor motor and has reduced depth piers, allowing for an additional domino induction hob to be situated beside the Aga. There is also a raised section of worktop behind the Aga providing a useful shelf for herbs, oils, condiments and cooking utensils.
