The Trend for Textures

SieMatic by Rencraft Kitchen

Bringing together different textures within one space is big news in the world of kitchen design.

Here at Rencraft, we have long favoured the trend for combining different materials, colours and textures within one design. In our Tunbridge Wells showroom we are also proud to partner with leading German manufacturer SieMatic, a partnership which further extends the choice of styles and the almost endless design opportunities we are able to offer our clients.

In this particular SieMatic by Rencraft example, two different finishes have been selected to add contrast and create interest within the end design. The high gloss, handle-less cabinetry along the back run is from SieMatic’s S2 range in truffle grey while the warm, wood grain textured finish on the island and around the wine cooler is from SieMatic’s Terra Larix collection.

Senior Designer, Jonathan Reynolds, comments “The blend of different materials in this kitchen shows how areas can be accented within the design. The calming tones of the truffle grey for the more dominant back wall and tall cabinets give a canvas of soft colour, allowing the Terra Larix dark wood island with its strident grain and textured finish to stand proud into the room. The Terra Larix also provides warmth to the colder harsher tones of the quartz worktops and porcelain floor. The Nickle Gloss glass cabinets add an element of luxury and sophistication to the bar and wine station.”

We love the combination of Gloss and Grain in this kitchen so much we’ve chosen it for our February Kitchen of the Month!
