Tailored Elegance

Mornings are a time of day when we really don’t want chaos and disarray to rear their ugly heads and that’s why we design our bespoke bedrooms so that everything can be neatly hidden from view. By allowing the space to become more than simply functional; it becomes restorative – after all, we spend a third of our lives asleep so a tranquil, clutter-free setting is the very foundation of a good night’s rest.

We also believe that the true beauty of bespoke design lies in its ability to reflect the individual, so whether you want clean lines, concealed handles or a cosy nook for relaxing with a good read, we can design an aesthetic that is both elegant and timeless.

The Art of Placement

When it comes to interior design, the placement of the bed sets the tone for the entire room and, when positioned thoughtfully, it can frame a view, capture natural light or establish symmetry – a principle which instinctively brings balance and harmony.

At Rencraft, we always say that the difference is in the detail and so we will always consider the smallest details which may have great significance for our clients. Whether it’s positioning a wardrobe so a dressing gown is always easily to hand, plotting a clear path to the ensuite for early risers, or fashioning separate “his and hers” dressing rooms, we will focus on creating an effortless flow that allows you to move gracefully through your space.

This example is from our client’s home in Sevenoaks where we handcrafted tall wardrobes to bookend a media unit with drawer space beneath in addition to a walk-in wardrobe space between the sleeping area and master en suite.

Storage as Sculpture

Such is the love and painstaking detail we put into every one of our designs, we believe that storage should be considered not as a practical necessity alone, but as an art form in itself with each client’s particular quirks and requests catered for.

Would you like your hanging rails to be designed for long coats and dresses, or cleverly arranged for double-hanging shirts and trousers? No problem! Pining after drawers and shelves that glide open with ease? You’ve got it! Would you prefer your shoes displayed on angled shelves, or tucked neatly away? Your wish is our pleasure to execute, with every element of your bespoke bedroom tailored to your habits and lifestyle.

We also know that everyone is different and that, for some, a dressing room with open-fronted cabinetry creates a preferred boutique-like feel, whereas for others hand-painted doors keep the everyday hidden from view, just like this client’s dressing rooms which we had the pleasure of crafting for the whole family.

Pitch Perfect

Often in the upper floors of the home, architecture also plays its role with pitched ceilings, quirky alcoves and original fireplaces offering exciting design opportunities, as well as challenges. We are proud to design truly bespoke cabinetry that will nestle comfortably in any nook or niche, and our flexibility and open-minded approach allows us to create a refined look which also ticks all the boxes on our clients’ wishlists.

This example is from a country house in Sussex where the owners were keen to create a separate space for dressing and putting on make up within their master suite. The dimensions of the room meant that the floor-to-ceiling cabinetry and shoe nooks needed careful planning but the clients were delighted with the end result.

Not Just for the Grown Ups

When it comes to children’s bedrooms, we are masters at creating spaces which are both grown up, as well as appealing to the youngest members of the family, with additions such as writing desks for homework time, secret hidey-holes under window seats for special treasures and ample storage, not only for hanging clothes, but for toys, games and cuddly animals too.
